Of course I am not sure anyone here knows the meaning of the word so I suggest they look it up. Generally speaking and depending on certain caveats it is a good thing to do rather than a bad thing.
Slydini for example had a ton of magical gestures! However, what suited him would not necessarily suit anyone else. I agree with Diego that it all depends on the circumstances and the person doing it.

However, gestures are a different thing entirely. First flourishes are a different thing than gestures! I have written extensively on flourishes in the past and in fact I devoted space to the subject in my upcoming annotations to the Royal Road to Card Magic.
